I HUNT WITH HOUNDS! What is better radio telemetry or gps tracking collars?

I’ve never owned tracking collars, but wish I could make sure that babies are not near a road or collect it at the end of a hunt. I used radio tracking with friends has never used the GPS. Gps sounds so much better and cost the same, but my concern is the battery life. The Garmin Astro gives autonomy of 22 hours but I am not sure whether the handheld unit or necklace. My friends are collared weeks of signal thanks to the battery technology. Does anyone have experience with both? It’s a big chunk of $ for not sure. .

Whatever you decide, be sure to factor time and its ability to impact satellite for GPS. On a clear day, no problem. Snow? This response is not working perfectly, but I hope it helps.
