If you’re tired of looking in dense cover or tall grass for your hunting dog, Garmin Astro is the first dog GPS tracking system specifically designed to help sportsmen and hunters keep track of their dogs. This system shows you exactly where your dog is, even when you can not see or hear your pet and its functionality and features go beyond the needs of your normal pet owner.

The Garmin Astro 220 is composed of a portable GPS with a bright LCD screen, and DC 20, a wireless transmitter. Everything you need to do to start is to take the system from outside and turn on the transmitter and the handheld unit. They will acquire the signals from GPS satellites, and you can join the DC 20 wireless transmitter to your dog. There is a harness that came with the device you can use or you can thread on a DC 20 inch E-collar. Installation is simple and fast. Once completed, you can let your dog run away.

Once the arrangements put in place, position your dog will be sent to your phone every five seconds. You have several choices of receiving this information, because the receiver has several display options. Check the map image, and you will see where your dog is. . . and where he or she was. Go to page tracking dog, and you’ll see a compass that indicates the location of your dog, and tells you what he or she does. You’ll know if your dog is sitting, walking, on the point, or trees career. An alarm can be activated to tell you when your dog goes on point so you know when your dog has sensed an animal immediately.

The Garmin Astro 220 receiver high sensitivity shows you where your dog is still through the dense cover. It allows you to follow as much as ten different dogs, and you can follow each dog as much as five miles. The terrain effects the way Garmin Astro 220 works, however, to take this into consideration when planning your hunt. flat territory works best, since the unit transmits by line of sight.

There are useful functions included in the Garmin Astro 220 more than the tracking dogs too. After you found your prey, you can mark the location with the functionality Covey cons, detailing the time of day, and even the altitude and the number of animals you blushed over how much you have taken. You can also drop important points, such as your car and your lodge for each flush, so you never lose your bearings. Special icons are available to represent different points of hunting, including stands of trees and bits of food.

The Astro also has a barometric altimeter, electronic compass and a calculator region.

The Garmin Astro 220 powered by two AA batteries that last up to 24 hours, which means you will not have to stop and recharge. The unit is waterproof, if dogs can not swim it hurts. About six hundred dollars, the Garmin Astro 220 offers many features. </ P>

Cat tracking collars

seem a smart choice to keep an eye on a stray cat. Add a collar followed by a global positioning device that knows its current location at any time. The GPS can then periodically send its longitude and latitude position at certain base stations by simply transmitted over the cellular phone network. Once received, the location information is uploaded to a website that allows you to monitor the location of your cat. Not only is this GPS tracking system a good idea, it is already used in a variety of ways – from car navigation systems to locate lost hikers.

However, the GPS tracking system typical cat is hard to find – at least in the United States. The main problem is that GPS technology has been miniaturized to the point of making GPS cat collars small enough and light enough for most household cats. Domestic cats are simply unable to bear the weight of the current GPS electronics and power supply.

The websites that advertise the GPS tracking collars cat seems to be located in Europe, and those particular devices are European rather large – weighing more than 90g. Most cats of average size would be able to make a necklace monitoring 80g comfortably.

The disadvantage of other GPS tracking collars, and for two cats tracking collars and dog tracking collars, is that GPS collars typically have monthly fees associated with them. This is because the GPS collars normally use cellular networks for transmitting location information and cellular networks all have monthly fees. So if you want to avoid monthly fees, you must use another type of technology for monitoring the cat collar.

One of the best options I’ve found is to use a short-range radio tracking collar. This kind of tracking beacon transmits a signal periodic neck is detected by a directional receiver. With the receiver are able to tell which way your cat is by the strength of a signal you detect. In addition, as you approach the radio transmitter beacon signal also gets stronger so you can determine both the direction and distance on your cat.

These short-range radio collars cat have followed two distinct advantages over GPS collars for cats. Firstly, because they use free radio frequencies, you avoid the monthly fee cellular network used by GPS systems. Second, the electronics used with these devices short range may be small and light enough for a domestic cat to wear. The monitoring system on the neck has only a weak signal beacon so that the amount of electronics and energy requirements are low. These types of tracking collars or cat just needs a small battery for power.

There is a drawback of using a radio tracking collar. Unlike the cat GPS locators you would not be able to determine longitude and latitude of your cat since the radio collar does not transmit the exact location coordinates – just distance and directional information that can be detected by the relative signal strength with the directional receiver. However, since cats usually do not wander miles away in a short period of time – my cats are usually within a block of my house – with information on the exact location to follow on a Web site does not seem as important to my opinion.

The other perceived disadvantage of a tracking collar short range radio chat is that it will not work over long distances from the GPS collar. This is only partially true. If a GPS collar that uses the cellular network may be able to transmit location information over a long distance, cellular systems are also susceptible to interference and signal loss. If your cat is walking around a hole or a cave or an area not served by a cellular tower, then the GPS collar would not work.

A string of short-range radio would be able to work in areas much further afield and in places where cell phone networks can not reach from the neck of radio should transmit to the extent to which the receiver when the GPS cat collar shall transmit to the nearest cell tower.

So consider a radio collar cat as a cat tracking device if you do not find a cat GPS collar that fits your needs and your budget.
</ p>

location system offered by vagrant animal may be a useful tool for those who have already lost a dog. Vagabond lets you know precisely and quickly locate lost pets, using state of the art GPS technology. The color LCD handheld gives you the location of information in a readable format, allowing you to see where your pet, and where he or she may be headed.

The system consists of the rover GPS receiver and a driver’s collar that your dog wears. Although there is no reason why technology can not work on cats, the smallest available collar is too large for almost all cats, and a small system has not yet been made. The receiver receives the location information sent by the neck, including the speed of your dog, he or she is and how fast your pet goes. Every few seconds, you will get another update, providing a constant flow of information in real time.

Except for the GPS technology, the rover is a bit like a normal dog collar. Simply put on your pet and to activate the system to begin tracking. Unlike some GPS systems other animal, vagrant does not require membership or visit the Web site. This means that the initial cost of the device is all you need to pay. However, vagrant is limited to a radius of one mile from the handheld unit. If your dog leaves the area, the last known position will be posted, but there is no way to follow later.

Once the system is activated, you can follow up three dogs at once, as long as all dogs wear collars. You can also create a barrier GPS walking around the perimeter of the area where your dog is allowed to be while holding the handheld unit. Once your pet leaves the area, an alarm will sound to let you know that there is a problem. The electronic frontier is automatically stored, so it is easy to delete and replace with a new field that you choose.

Both the dog collar and receiver come with their own rechargeable batteries, so you do not need to buy new. However, these batteries last only eight to ten hours, which means you’ll need to use the included adapter for recharging. Charging takes about three hours, and can be done during the night or morning before leaving your dog.

The five and a half inch by four and a half-inch display is small enough to carry easily, but big enough for information to be read without any problem. The affair of the necklace containing the rover GPS unit is approximately two inches by one inch, and weighs a little over two ounces – not enough to strain even a small dog. This case is waterproof to one meter deep, which makes it difficult for your pet to break the GPS to swim or in the rain.

A major drawback is the cost of a vagabond. Some of his competitors are less than half that this system, a little over four hundred dollars for a handheld unit and the collar. Additional collars are about one hundred and fifty dollars each. However, these competitors require a monthly subscription, with a commitment of at least one year, if the costs are comparable to the end. </ P>
