This device seems to work correctly when you use the Zoombak site to a site search. The device can be placed somewhere that is very shields from the outside or it will not be a good cellular and / or GPS signal.
Function area is the area where it is simply not delivering as advertised. Once you’ve set up an area, it is supposed to alert you when the device enters or leaves the zone. Sometimes, it only tells you all. When he tells you, alerts are sent out 15-20 minutes after the device has input / output area, instead of sending it in a minute or two. If you enter and leave the area within this window of 15-20 minutes you do not receive a warning to all.
This is not how it is represented advertising on their video soon.
Finally, good luck to reach a level of a member of the technical support staff who speaks understandable English. This part is extremely frustrating. It was a real challenge facing Zoombak. Initially, I was excited when I learned of their product. I am currently using TomTomWork GPS tracking of our vehicles, which ranges from $ 500 per unit for monitoring, and installation and $ 50. 00 by monitoring fee per month per unit, which adds up fast.

Hopefully they will Zoombak bugs developed and consider hiring a better talent pool of Customer Service Agents who speak English.

I bought version Zoombak Pet of about a month ago and I am sorry to say after a week of testing and multiple consultations with technical staff Zoombak I did not have enough confidence in She puts it on my dog. I returned the unit to Amazon and received a credit quickly. I also received immediate credit from Zoombak for the year of service I signed up for when registering my unit because it was within their risk for 30 days of free period. The staff was very courteous Zoombak, and I’m sure they would be of assistance in locating your dog if you requested, but it was not until I asked to speak to a technical inspectors did I feel comfortable that someone understood the difficulties I experience with the device. As most of you probably know the Zoombak uses a combination cell phone and the GPS service to provide you Informationes on your pet. The cellular portion of the system has worked well. I received immediate notifications when I turned the switch off when the battery is low. These two options, which allows you to select the installation, use the cellular portion of the unit. Another function that uses the cellular portion in combination with GPS is the ability to locate mobile function. It works quite well.
Now for the problems I experienced. After repeatedly creating safe areas by the instructions supplied with the device, the information I found on the Zoombak website, and finally the instructions received by the technical staff I could not Zoombak the GPS unit to recognize that the unit had left the security zones that I had put in place. I tested the device by placing it on the windshied my car where I normally take my GPS and others leaving the safety zone established for a minimum of 15 minutes. Most of the time I stayed out of the area for 30 minutes or more. On 3 occasions I called the Zoombak Technical support personnel to verify that the device worked well. They assured me it was. On one occasion, they had to re-synchronize the device. At their instructions I increased the radius of my safety zone. The minimum security is 110 m. Area. I increased 4 times over a radius of 700 meters. the most I would accept. Of the four events at these distances I received no alerts mobile email that the aircraft had left the area.
I have 2 Garmin GPS units and two of of them work perfectly up to 10 meters from my house so I do not see why the GPS unit packed in the Zoombak could not lock onto the GPS satellites need 3 and recognize that had left or re- safety zone. On one occasion, I had the camera in an open area for 20 miles from my home and did not receive alerts.
Because I Zoombak assured that my unit was working perfectly, I can only assume they are either using a GPS unit or reliable than the software they use to transmit the alerts is not perfect.

A couple of other observations. If you watch the video clip or the Martha Stewart Show Zoombak video you might feel like me that once your dog leaves your yard or premises, you will receive immediate notification that it has left. This is not the case. Your dog must physically leave your established Safety Zone and stay out of this area for 15 minutes. If he wanders back in and outside the safety zone within 15 minutes you do not get alerts. I was afraid my dog would be gone before I knew about it. My other concern is that if someone took my dog and placed him in a car I would not be able to follow. The statement accompanying the GPS device to indicate clearly that the unity Zoombak must have a clear line of sight to GPS satellites to follow. This is the case with most GPS units. Unless you can train your dog to sit in the seat before you could have problems.
People point is that if you love and care much as us about our dogs to be wary of this product right now. It’s a great idea, but not what I want to be a beta tester for especially with the cost of the unit, monthly service charges and concerns of my dogs. My husband bought one of those in town for $ 100, but I made him return it and he found for $ 39 w / Free Shipping Online. Boy, I’m glad I did! We have put this little piece of scrap in the back window of the car of my son, (within sight of the sky, that the instructions will tell you) and he is barely functioning. The site is very slow to show you the location of the device’s hard to find at all, must be followed in real time is extremely slow sending e-mail alerts. When I receive a warning, my son has long since arrived at its destination and I spent too much time wondering where he is. It is even supposed to tell you how fast the aircraft is in motion (eg in a car), but if it displays this information, it is too old to do something and he really only gives you an overview of what is happening, not in information. And all this information can be had for a great monthly subscription! Yay! Oh, and by the way, I live in Columbus, Ohio, and not in the middle of nowhere.
Oh, and do not think you’ll buy one to give a test, and then sell some other poor unsuspecting sap. The only way to transfer, it is to “allow” someone to be a user on the account. They can then change the password and redirect billing. But wait! What if they do not redirect? Then, you can still get the bills and be locked out of account! Woo hoo! canceled today. I had to provide at least 5 items of verification and customer account representative seemed I was still unsure of the account holder. . . even before they knew that I was canceled. I think they really want to stop the “black market” on their units. No fee since I had well over 12 months. New things I learned since the initial review:
unit is quite sensitive to heat and cease to function if exposed to direct sunlight.

The unit just could not be updated during a cycle of their infamous update. They change to a new toll.
I downgraded to an opinion 3. . . I got my use out of it, “But, reliability is an ongoing problem. . . frequent breakdowns and / or notifications missed during transitions zone. YMMV.
Cancelled account units are declared worthless and technically can not be reused by others.
; Last but not least, they are very aggressive on customer retention, I intend to monitor closely and take into account that really does cancel.
