I was very excited about this product from losing another bike in San Francisco. I thought I’d keep it under my seat and the next time I lose my bike that I had to find the thief. Device arrived and I charged and went to activate it on their website. website ok but a bit awkward – clicking on the boxes radio show and find pages of small links. They could not locate the device and after many attempts, I thought it was just hard to get a signal in my building and I took with me to another place, still no luck. During the next week, I tried no less than eight different places, each time failed. I am perhaps he was inside, so I even tried a few times while I walk and each time he said he could not locate the device. This was the activation step, so I finally left a voice message with their tech support (they had promised to call me back and they did not). This was not a big deal and I called again. This time, the person has to take me outside and switch the device ON / OFF three times. After the third time, he was finally able to communicate with the mothership. I was really hoping it was just a problem with the initial setup, but I tested continuously over a week and managed to “find” the only device twice. Once was at home only after placing it in the window and I was unable to repeat this feat. The second time, she managed to find myself in an open area near a highway with a good cell phone coverage but only at the second attempt and for some reason it did not report on Safari on the iPhone at the time. It’s really low cost GPS tracking device low monthly fee on the market and it works fine as long as you understand and are OK with what she may / may not do.
PROS

CONS Battery life – we get ~ 45 hours with a total of 20 requests location / events per charge which is much less than the figure of 5 day/150 cases they state
blocking ability GPS – are mixed sometimes take more than an hour after power to get a fix and sometimes only a few seconds in the same conditions < br /> Speed Event Reporting – Once the device has “warmed up” and reported an event occurrences are reported quickly (0-3 minutes after they happen), but it may take up to one hour an event to be processed / reported in some cases. For example, when we leave the house in the morning and come to a different area 20 minutes later, it could be another 20 minutes before we get the SMS messages that say we left a box and arrived in another. ” , br />
Clearly this is not a “real time” tracking device in how $ 300 / $ 30 per month are units and battery life is IMO, poor. However, the unit is really a good job for what it is and we’re happy with it. If installed in a car battery issues so that would leave a better experience, I think.

I was very pleased to have this as a security measure for our daughter to go to college. It is worthless. We were not able to track other than the first time it has been activated (which, apart from her standing on a ledge facing the sky in broad daylight could not be done). She was in her car, at work, etc. I even took to work with me and I work in Buckhead in Atlanta. I am on the 15th floor of a skyscraper and put it beside a large window and it still would not track. I guess for someone who lives outside and bands at the top of their head, it might be practical, otherwise, do not waste your money!

This is not very reliable. It will take some time but will not follow most of the time. Also real-time monitoring does not work at all. I returned and got my rebate on both products and services.

Boy, I was wrong about this product. Purchased the unit in April. Unit stopped working in early July. Called customer service 5 times in two weeks. Continues to receive the same scripted apology and delays, but no real resolution.
Do not expect real customer service or technical support! Currently, the search for replacement alternatives.

“After weeks of research I bought this GPS tracking for my young children. It works very well. SMS alert received when the locator is outside the security zone. I can check the site on my phone i through the website. He warned me again when returning safety zone. Overall, it worked exactly as promised. An excellent product! ”
